Active ingredients

Collagen

a protein constituting ca. 30% of total human protein and as much as 70% of skin protein. Together with elastin, collagen creates an elastic mesh-like structure in the skin to make the skin elastic and firm as well as supports fibroblasts. Furthermore, collagen has an excellent water-binding capacity, thus contributing to proper skin moisture level. Collagen stimulates revitalisation processes, deeply regenerates, moisturises the skin and improves its firmness.

Resin from Dragon Tree / Dragon Blood

deeply red resin obtained from a tree Dracaena cochinchinensis. In traditional Chinese medicine, this ingredient is believed to stimulate blood circulation. Modern research has shown that this resin has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties as well as strengthens the immune function and supports deep skin reconstruction at the same time. Various valuable compounds have been isolated from the plant, including loureirin A, B and C as well as resveratrol and hydroxyphenol.

Babassu oil

characterized by moisturizing and softening properties, improves skin elasticity. As an emollient, it prevents the loss of moisture in the skin and strengthens its lipid layer. This oil contains a lot of saturated lauric acid known for its antibacterial and antiseptic properties. It is rich in unsaturated fatty acids such as linoleic and oleic acids.

Elastin

a protein occurring inseparably with collagen. Both proteins together form an elastic mesh in dermis to make skin firm and supple as well as provide support for fibroblasts.

Capryl glycol

a substance identical to natural, i.e. it is synthesised by man but it has a chemical structure identical to that of a natural compound. Due to this structure, the component functions also as an agent moisturising (humectant) and gently lubricating the skin. The presence of a short-chain fatty acid facilitates absorption of our preparation deep into the skin and, because of gentle lubrication, it prevents water loss in the skin.

Lactic acid

a fruit acid from the alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) group. Furthermore, lactic acid is a “green” raw material as it is obtained from natural sources and it is completely biodegradable. The acid is obtained biotechnologically through sugar fermentation by lactic acid bacteria (Lactobacillus). It should be noted that the substance has the GRAS status, which means it is Generally Recognised as Safe. Depending on concentration, lactic acid may act as an exfoliating, regenerating and moisturising substance (in the quantity in which it is present in our collagen it has moisturising and regenerating properties). The acid works best at pH 3-4 (the value present in our product). Clinical studies have shown that preparations the composition of which includes fruit acids positively influence the condition and appearance of skin. Such preparations are recommended especially to those whose skin is dry and/or shows visible signs of aging. Excessive build-up of epidermal cells makes skin thick and matt. Lactic acid is a small molecule, which is why it easily penetrates the skin. The acid loosens the corneocyte layer of epidermis (dissolves the substance holding individual cells together and facilitates its exfoliation. This process results in regulation of natural exfoliation of epidermis, which entails stimulated regeneration of deeper cells, mostly the fibroblasts responsible for collagen and elastin synthesis. Moreover, regular use of fruit acids improves the skin’s water accumulation capacity, which is explained through the increased level of ceramides in epidermis resulting from their biosynthesis being stimulated by AHAs. So not only do fruit acids fail to damage the skin’s protective barrier but they improve it significantly. Increased quantity of fibrillar proteins and water in deeper skin layers is manifested through smoothed wrinkles and lines on the surface of the skin and through its generally better look. Preparations with lactic acid are highly recommended in the summer and in winter when the skin is affected by sun or frost and requires special care, e.g. elimination of small wrinkles or brightening of pigment spots. Another benefit of the lactic acid is the fact that it is an effective promoter of percutaneous passage, i.e. it facilitates absorption of other substances, including nutritional and regenerating substances.

Instruction for use
