Active ingredients

Squalane

a saturated form of squalene, which is a natural component of the skin’s protective lipid barrier. This compound is also part of the intercellular cement of the epidermis. Over the age of 25, the level of natural squalene in the skin automatically drops, which considerably deteriorates skin’s appearance. Squalane is a fully stable chemical form of squalene, the cosmetic properties of which are identical to its natural precursor. However, due to its composition, it does not break down into unfavourable chemical compounds when used externally. Because of the squalane molecule’s small size, and its high affinity for epidermal lipid structures, the compound easily penetrates deeper layers of the epidermis, and is an excellent carrier for other biologically active, fat-soluble components, improving their penetration. Furthermore, by becoming incorporated into the epidermal intercellular structure, it seals the epidermis and restores the impaired barrier functions of lip skin, considerably improving the moisture level of the lips. Additionally, by reconstructing the lipid barrier, it strongly regenerates lip skin, bringing considerable relief. Squalane also nourishes lips, and protects them against UV radiation and other environmental factors. Due to such comprehensive activity, delicate lip skin is made soft, elastic and shiny again. Squalane is also an antioxidant; it protects lipid structures against oxidation and the activity of free radicals, thus having anti-wrinkle effects.

Vitamin E

a unique component that protects delicate lip skin in many ways. Primarily, it helps maintain the correct moisture level of the lips, protecting them against drying and accelerating their regeneration. In addition, it nourishes and softens lip skin, increasing elasticity and smoothness. Vitamin E also provides defence against the harmful effects of weather conditions.

Phyto-Oil C2

a combination of a lipid extract with Soya beans and Ceramide 2. The ceramides it contains are key elements of the stratum corneum lipid barrier. They are responsible for the integrity of the external skin layer, and play a key function in regulating its water metabolism. They enhance the skin’s capacity to retain water, and reduce water loss through the epidermis, restoring the correct water level in the skin. Additionally, they regulate percutaneous penetration, thus enhancing skin nourishment. By rebuilding the protective epidermal layer, they accelerate regeneration of the epidermis and improve its resistance to harmful weather factors, especially solar radiation. With age, and under external factors, the skin’s ceramide level drops, resulting in skin dryness. In addition to ceramides, the skin’s protective barrier is comprised of cholesterol and free fatty acids. Aside from ceramides, hydromide contains sitosterols and sigma-sitosterols – herbal analogues of cholesterol, which give this component a structure almost identical to the skin’s lipid barrier. Due to this composition, hydromide becomes perfectly incorporated into the skin, regenerating its barrier functions. By supplementing any deficiency of lipid components in the protective layer of lip skin, hydromide ensures it is better moisturised, smoother and more elastic.

Jojoba oil

contains numerous lipid components with valuable lubricating and nourishing properties. Its composition includes squalene, phytosterols, and vitamins A (promoting natural functions of the skin), E (accelerating regeneration and slowing the skin ageing process), and F (with an immunostimulating role). Jojoba oil exhibits a high biological compatibility with skin, since its composition is similar to human sebum, hence why it is absorbed so efficiently. Components of the oil become incorporated into and strengthen the intercellular cement, thus preventing water loss from the skin, considerably improving its moisture level, and exhibiting regenerative and protective effects. The oil acts not only on the skin’s surface, but also penetrates deeper layers and nourishes them, making skin softer and more elastic. Jojoba oil is also a natural solar filter and an antioxidant, helping skin remain young. It can be used for any type of skin, but is most frequently recommended for sensitive and irritated skin, especially for the delicate skin of the lips.

Shea butter (Karite)

this component, from the very heart of Africa, contains fat substances (saturated and unsaturated fatty acids), as well as waxes, pro-vitamin A, vitamins E and F, natural allantoin, and filters providing protection against UVB radiation, which negatively affects the condition of skin. Substances in the butter work to protect and strengthen the intercellular cement of the stratum corneum, improving the elasticity of skin. Karite additionally nourishes, creating a delicate film on the surface of lips to protect them against sun, frost and wind, which dry the skin and accelerate its ageing. By counteracting these conditions, it supports the correct moisture level of skin and prevents premature ageing, leaving it smooth and soft. Karite has soothing properties, and brings relief to irritated lips. It also penetrates the deepest layers of the epidermis, nourishing them intensively.

excellently moisturises lips, which are particularly exposed to external factors, and need water replenishment at all times. Additionally, collagen creates a protective layer on the surface of the lips, thus reducing water loss from deeper skin layers. Furthermore, native collagen stimulates revitalisation processes, and deeply regenerates and nourishes lip skin, making lips smooth and youthfully firm.

D-Pantenol

a precursor of biologically active vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) present in all living cells. This compound has an incredible water-binding capacity, considerably enhancing the skin’s moisture levels. It soothes irritation caused by UV rays, wind and frost, and prevents premature ageing of lip skin by nourishing it.

Application method

Apply a small quantity of the product to the lips, and massage it in gently.
